Temuera Derek Morrison MNZM, born on 26 December 1960, is an actor from New Zealand who first gained recognition in his home country for playing Dr. Hone Ropata on the soap opera Shortland Street. His critically acclaimed performances include Jake The Muss Heke in Once Were Warriors (1994) and its 1999 sequel What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?. Outside of New Zealand, Morrison is best known for his work in the Star Wars multimedia franchise, notably as Jango Fett and his clone offspring, including Boba Fett and the clone troopers. He debuted as Jango Fett in the 2002 Star Wars movie Attack of the Clones. His portrayal of Boba Fett includes voicing the character in the 2004 re-release of The Empire Strikes Back, various video games, and fully playing Boba in The Mandalorian (2019–present) and The Book of Boba Fett (2021–2022). In 2022, he had a recurring role in the black ops thriller series Echo 3. Chief Tui, Moana's father in Disney's Moana (2016), was voiced by Morrison, as well as portraying Tom Curry, Arthur Curry's father, in DCEU films such as Aquaman (2018), The Flash (2023), and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023). His ancestry is Māori (Te Arawa and Tainui) as well as Scottish and Irish. Taini Morrison, his sister, was a performer, and his uncle, Sir Howard Morrison, was a musician. Morrison completed his secondary schooling at Wesley College (Auckland) and Western Heights High School (Rotorua).
